ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

I bought this album a week ago at Moyo's (a place simply indescribable in the outskirts of Stellenbosch, South Africa - you just have to visit it!) when I went there for the first time with a group of women friends.
Enjoy!

Ambient Africa

Ancient sounds are what we call "ambient" today. Blending indigenous instruments and modern sounds with voice is a method of preserving indigenous sounds in a contemporary way

I'm Free

(Written for the soundtrack of The Return of Saartjie Baartman)
Saartjie Baartman was known as the 'Hottentot Venus' as her sexuality was linked with the Goddess of Love

African Meditation

"Life is light and light is life, and so colour is sound and sound colour"
Sufi Inayet Khan

The Healing

Let's heal ourselves

{Except for the last, the words describing the songs are by Pops Mohammed}

I only found one song from this specific album, called «The colour of Love». I've put it in our playing list.
